Girls Playing

Today we play the second game in our new league for the older girs born in 1989-90. It is a different level from what we were used to play. Our team is younger so we hope to get some good playing experience. The other teams are bigger, stronger and just better than us. Today was pretty bad we got beat by 80 points. But we were able to reflect in God's word as we were facing the "Big giant" on the court. Our prayer is that the girls learn life long lessons trough these difficult games. These games are to challenge them to face hardiships and how to lean on God to go through them.

Ministry News

Sports Ministry
We have been ministrying the word of God through sports to all ages of people. As we share about our ministry with you we ask you to pray for the items and also we want to encourauge you to consider extending your ministry through the opportunities God has blessed us with down here by getting involved with your financial help.

  1. Sports for young kids at the public shools - we have been involving kids ages 07-17 in sports. Susan and I use Basketball and another AeA staff couple use soccer to reach and ministry to young kids. In our basketball program we have about 120 kids enrolled with us. We provide for them basketball coaching, Biblical counseling, Bible study and games experience in compettions. We have 5 teams competing right now, and we are not very good this year so we hope to be better next year!
  2. Van Project - Susan and I bought a 16 seat passenger vehicle and we make monthly payments for the next 2 years. it is worth have it beacuse we use it for the kids so the kids benefit from it (taking them to games) families and kids to church (sunday morning rides to chruch we help about 7-10 people) our AeA satff also benefit from it and we all ride together to conferences and other ministry projects. Susan and I Praise the Lord for the big blessing this car is and for us it is worth every penny.

  3. Scholarship Program, this program helps us to help young people involved in ministry work to go to school. We have two young women (Prsiscila and Simone) receiving some funds about 60% of their needs from us and we could have at least two more young men involved with us but we can not help them at the moment.

  4. Clinics in different schools - Since we got some help from Priscila and Simone we set some goals for this year to get the others schools from around us involved with our programs. We have planned to do Basketball Clinics for the little kids. We could use some more people to help us. Our goal is to involved 2000 kids this yeat doing basketball clinics.

Kids

Our boys play Basketball with the kids from the school. Tiago as you can see is not up to the competition yet but he is there trying to score and pass the ball to his teammates. He is learning to use his left hand, which is going to help him a lot. Timothy is fianlly palying with kids his age! Beacuse of his hight and skills he was playing with older boys last year and this year he is doing a good job scoring.

Our girls have been enjoying playing basketball with the girls from the school. They have lots of friends and they all have fun together. Stephanie like to run hard up and down on the court, she is getting better dribling the ball but doesn't score much. Jessica can shoot better but needs to try more shooting the ball.

Puppies

Our Dog Lady gave birth to 8 puppies but we only have 5! We know one for sure were dead but the other two puppies we don't know what happened to them. The little guys are growing and getting cutier each day! Jessica and stephanie loves to plat with them, poor puppies! We plan to give hem away as soon as they can live without their mom (lady). Priscila loves the brown one so I guess she will get that one.
