Basketball Game!!

All the girls in AeA uniforms. Stephanie warmed up with us before the game and Jessica her job one of the most important I told her... keeping Rebeca.

Today we (Atletas em Acao) played in an exhibition game in a new gym. WE WON! Even Stephanie got to put on a uniform and warm up with us. You see that we did not have very many players. One of the girls even got hurt and could not play the rest of the game. A girl from another city came and played with us to finish the game. The five of us played the whole game and won by 5 points. Since being pregnant with Rebeca I had not play much or even been able to get out to run much. These last two weeks Rogerio and I decided that I would go to practice with him to train with the girls team. We are going to play in a tounment in July. We all, four kids and baby, go three times a week and one of the kids looks after REbeca. All this sacrrfice is not really just to play basketball but motive number 1# is to have time with the girls to encourage them in their relationship with Jesus. It has been a great time with them. If my knees can take it and I can get into shape, I will continue to play with them.

Rebeca is now 1 year old and lots of fun.

The kids are holding on to Rebeca as she is taking some of her first real step going back and forth from them to me. Such simple joy comes from watching a baby learn to walk. Everyone was enjoying it.

Mateus

This is Mateus Timothy' Friend from basketball. He has started to come to church with us. We praise God and pray for is conversion. He loves basketball and we pray he will loe Jesus just as much. Mateus is from a simple family. His father just left the family so he lives with his mother and sister.

Mother's Day

I am so thankful for my children on this Mother's Day. Each one is a special gift. I was talking to Stephanie the other day. She was doubting that I loved her. I told her that for 9 years I have been taking care of her. Like I take care of Rebeca now, I took care of her. I still take care of her even though now she can do more things by herself. For Stephanie who is now 9 that is over 9,000 meals !!

Saturday afternoon basketball

We had quite a game on Saturday. The kids are getting better so it is fun for all of us to play. Will Rogerio and I still be able to play when Rebeca is old enough to play???? These are three of the girls that are involved in our ministry Tais, Prisila and Simone. They spend a lot of time with us.

Kids Game Training

Rogerio spent a Saurday morning with Timothy, Simone, Prisila and Tais helping train a church how to use Kid's Games.

Soccer Final at our house

On Sunday we watched the soccer final game Corinthians vs Santos. There were about 20 kids that came. Rogerio uses it to spend time with the kids and he shows a testimony of one of the soccer players. When you do not have a big house this is what you do, watch on the porch. Rogerio set up the TV outside and everyone could watch. The kids stayed until about 9pm playing baseball and then hide and seek. We can not use the camp grounds any more without having the kids pay so everyone stays up around our house.

Rebeca had her 1st birthday party. She had one friend. Like they say they number of friends invoted matches the number of years. Actually there were about 20 kids at her party just one her age!!

Rebeca's Birthday Party

We celebrated Rebeca's birthday tonight. She will be 1 years old on Wednesday. If you are wondering what the cake is it is a Brazilian cookie. It has a face on it. Since Rebeca was a baby everyone though Rebeca looked like this cookie with her round face. It was an delicious chocolate cake with stawberrry pudding in the middle. Some of the girls helped me make it.

Tonight was a combination birthday party/ministry night. We had about 20 kids here watching the championship soccer game that was one TV. Rogerio loves to find reasons to have all the kids to our house. It was a great night. You will see Rebeca did have one of her friends here for the party. Octavio he will be one is a month. We love Rebeca. She is a precious gift from God to all of us. She brings everyone in he family so much joy.
